Webinar: Improving Oncology Quality Measurement in Accountable Care

On Wednesday, April 26, the National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) and Discern Health hosted a webinar on “Improving Oncology Quality Measurement in Accountable Care,” which discussed gaps in oncology quality measures used in new payment models and identified potential avenues to improve oncology quality measures. The webinar featured an engaging discussion moderated by NPC Vice President of Health Services Research Kimberly Westrich, who led a panel discussion featuring:

  • Tom Valuck, MD, JD, Partner, Discern Health;
  • Mark McClellan, MD, PhD, Director, Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy; 
  • Robert S. Miller, MD, FACP, FASCO, Vice President and Medical Director, CancerLinQ; American Society of Clinical Oncology; and
  • Alan Balch, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, National Patient Advocate Foundation.

The webinar discussed NPC and Discern Health's recent research published in the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy, “Improving Oncology Quality Measurement in Accountable Care: Filling Gaps in Cross-Cutting Measures,” and white paper, "Improving Oncology Quality Measures in Accountable Care."
