Andrea Hofelich is the vice president of communications at the National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC), where she is responsible for the development and implementation of NPC’s communications strategies, including media relations and electronic communications. She joined NPC in 2008.
Ms. Hofelich has nearly 20 years of experience in communications. Previously, she served for four years as director of media relations for the Generic Pharmaceutical Association (GPhA) and, prior to that, as the communications director for the U.S. Senate Governmental Affairs Committee (now Governmental Affairs and Homeland Security), where she was responsible for developing the Committee’s media plan and generating public attention for the chairman, Senator Susan Collins (R-ME).
From 1998-2003, Ms. Hofelich served in several positions at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, including as the director of web content and managing editor for the monthly print publication.
She also worked as a press secretary for U.S. Representatives Nancy L. Johnson (R-CT) and Dick Zimmer (R-NJ), as well as for two U.S. Senate races and state legislative campaigns in New Jersey.
Ms. Hofelich holds an MBA in marketing from the University of Maryland and a BA in journalism and history/political science from Rutgers University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
