NPC Chief Science Officer and Executive Vice President Robert W. Dubois, MD, PhD, will speak at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) summit about “New Approaches to Value Assessment: Towards More Informed Pricing in Healthcare” on Oct. 19 at 12:45 p.m. in Washington, D.C. The summit will explore and debate both standard and more recently proposed approaches to measuring value and how they could be used in pricing and coverage decisions.

There are a number of other approaches to weighing the benefits and costs of treatments that offer alternatives to cost-effectiveness analysis to support healthcare decision making and pricing. Recent developments in the use of multiple criteria decision analysis, patient preference measures, and non-QALY (quality-adjusted life year) measures of benefit will be presented and discussed in this session.
