By contrast, basing a drug’s price on its actual clinical worth would reward meaningful innovation by allowing the most useful products to earn substantial revenues, while expensive drugs with no clinical advantage wouldn’t command excessive prices. Those obvious solutions appear nowhere in Trump’s Executive Orders or his plans for across-the-board pharmaceutical tariffs or ‘most favored nation’ pricing, which essentially would attempt to outsource such evaluation to other countries.” Full

EMA Reports Significant Growth in Use of Real-World Evidence for Medicines Regulation
(7/2, Katie McCool, The Evidence Base) reports “The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has released its third annual report on the use of real-world evidence (RWE) in medicines regulation, covering the period from February 2024 to February 2025. The report highlights significant progress in embedding RWE into regulatory decision-making, with 59 studies conducted, almost 48% more than the previous year. Of these studies, 33 were completed and 26 are ongoing, supporting a wide range of safety, utilization, and epidemiological assessments.” Full
