Once-Weekly Insulin Efsitora Demonstrates Comparable Efficacy to Daily Basal Insulin in Type 2 Diabetes

(3/5, Luke Halpern, Pharmacy Times) reports “A systematic review and meta-analysis published in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism found that once-weekly insulin efsitora alfa (efsitora; Eli Lilly and Company) demonstrated comparable glycemic efficacy and superiority in reduction of hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) at 52 weeks compared with once-daily basal insulin in adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D). The analysis provides pooled evidence supporting the clinical utility of this novel weekly basal insulin as an alternative to daily injection regimens.” Full
