Roswell Cole, PharmD, MPH

Rutgers-NPC 2025 - 2027 Health Policy & Communications Fellow

Roswell Cole, PharmD, MPH, is the NPC-Rutgers 2025-2027 Health Policy & Communications Fellow. He recently earned his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master’s in Public Health from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.

Dr. Cole is deeply interested in the intersection of health policy and rural health, particularly the role of biopharmaceutical manufacturers in both. His interest in health policy developed through internship experiences during pharmacy school. He interned for Georgia’s Department of Public Health, a U.S. Senator, and a U.S. Congressman — one of only two pharmacists serving in Congress. These roles allowed Dr. Cole to become familiar with the role of the executive and legislative branches in health policy, while also gaining experience in stakeholder relations and strategic communications. He also completed rotations with the American Pharmacists Association and the National Community Pharmacists Association, gaining further experiences with association management and advocacy on behalf of the pharmacy profession.

Over the course of his NPC-Rutgers fellowship, Dr. Cole will continue to advocate for the pharmacy profession and the communities it serves by supporting NPC’s work to communicate policy-relevant research with impact. He will focus on issues including alternative payment models, the 340B drug discount program, formulary development, and other topics impacting patient access to treatment.

Dr. Cole fulfilled his undergraduate coursework at The University of Georgia. Born and raised in Northwest Georgia, he is passionate about the Peach State and the people who call it home.
